Oil light on

low oil level or bad sending unit. usually not a weak oil pump but very high mileage engines can have low oil pressure. (this, however is a very gradual drop from normal wear in bearings and not the typical cause for oil warning light).

Oil pressure light comes on after engin fluid flush and oil sencer change what could be the problem

The oil pump is the next step.
It could be bearing or other things like blocked return flow that did not come out with the flush, bearings on the cam shaft etc.

Oil Pressure All of a sudden reads very low and Check gauge light on

you might want to make sure your oil pump is working,if it is not a sencer and see if you have an oil leak

I got gas going into my oil just wondering what sencer it is i got to change suv dont miss run good but cant change the oil 2 a week.....1995 pathfinder

This may not be a sensor issue. Sounds more like excessive engine wear. Have a compression test conducted on it and see if the cyclinder pressure dramatically reduced from what it should be.

Engine light came. Computer sencer said it isP1259

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

P1259 means VTEC system malfunction. Low oil level and a bad oil pressure switch for vtec can cause this. It can also be a faulty vtec solenoid.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Ok i have 05 durango, when i start it in the morning or just let it set there for about 6 hour's it sounds like the lifters are dry they clatter .once it warm's up it quits but the oil light comes on and...

1 st take out the sensor and install a manual oil pressure gauge and see what you have, at idol you should have atleast 30 psi oil pressure if you have less, then you have issues with the oil pump or your screen is clogged, but i would take out the oil pan, clean the screen and change oil pump, especialy if it's chattering, that's metal to metal contact, not good for a engine.

Oil pressure is high and rpms are low . happened before but check engine light was on then and isnt now. The dealership said that all they did was plug back in a faulty sencer and it ran fine after that..

with it being colder weather unless you live in Equador where it's hot all year round, the oil thickens thus you have good oil pressure, nothing wrong with good oil pressure only if you have no oil pressure. a car with 5w30 in 20*f weather that only gets 35psi in the summer now gets 55 psi in the cold..... now if you have a wrong oil filter that would put it in bypass mode thus giving you 60psi or higher ( i had this happen to me in a used truck ) if the engine isn't knocking i wouldn't worry about it much, a car in cold weather performs better than a car in the hot.
