Try this website to see if they have your car listed its www.edmunds.com for a online owner manual if it not showing you how in the manual you then would have to take the car to a ford dealership to have both remotes reprogramed iam sorry i do not have a manual Michigan Man

How can i program my door lock code or find out what it is. on my 2000 limited edition explorer

FORD KEY PADS
  • Enter permanent factory code
  • Press the 1/2 button within 5 seconds to enter programming mode
  • Within 5 seconds enter new code, doors will lock, unlock to verify code, this erases previous codes remotes will also need to be programmed.
FORD KEY PADS/REMOTES
  • Insert key, turn ignition off-to- on eight times in succession, ending with key in on position doors will lock, unlock to verify in programming mode
  • Press any button on new remote, doors will lock, unlock to verify
  • Do the previous step with the second remote, doors will lock unlock to verify.
  • Turn ignition off. Doors will again lock, unlock to verify.
NOTE-I found that some Explorer/Mountaineers enter program mode after 5 times-not 8.

Here is the link for further info.

Your factory code is on a card in the owners manual. If that is lost, access the control module in the cargo area behind the left cover panel.

You MIGHT be able to see the code printed on it, or you might need to pull it out in order to see it.

Iam using a friends car, and everytime i put in the ky to the ignition it makes an awful noise and a key with a cross sign comes up in red on the dash board

keys contain a 'security chip' linked to the vehicle security system.replacement keys must be programmed using the original key.consult owners manual for directions concerning your specific model.

I lost the chipkey to my2000 explorer.tried to get one programed

No you will need the key with the chip in it or the truck will not run. The key has a transmitter in it and when you put it in the ignition it sends a freqwency out and that is how the truck starts or dosent get stolen if ya dont got the key.
