I have a 2016 sonata that's getting a p0171 and p0340 codes. Battery, vaccum lines and starter all tested fine. It starts fine but is idling fast. Would the camshaft sensor replacement be the fix?

These codes are not usually related. P0171 is usually due to intake leak downstream of the maf sensor. P0340 could be the sensor or the connector/harness.

Check engine light comes on and the vehicle starts running rough, misfiring and will stall at times. The codes have been cleared twice and it will go for 75 miles before it happens again. Stored codes are...

okay lets start with the po 068 & po 108, check the connection to the mass air flow sensor if conn are good replace the mass air flow sensor, that should solve the two codes, now the po455 is a evap gross leak detected. first is to make sure gas cap is good and on tight, i f it is then look for broken evap lines or hoses, it a line that sends vaccum to evap canister and another line that send fuel vapors to engine and canister check lines, also there are valve that you should check vent and purge valves, this part you may need a shop to test valves, hope this is helpful,

What doe the code mean p0171 for 2004 mercedes c230 and my check engin light is on? Can some one HELP me please

either a vaccum leak, or a dirty mass air flow (maf) sensor. the sensor you can clean with crc maf cleaner spray at your local auto parts store. as for the vacuum leak, i heard there is a recall for m271 engines to replace two faulty vaccum lines. one line goes to the s/c, and i believe the other one is right next to it. check if your car needs this recall and go from there.

Code po171 car running too lean...

DTC P0171: Fuel System Too Lean

NOTE: If some of the DTCs listed below are stored at the sametime as DTC P0171 and/or P0172, troubleshoot those DTCs first, thenrecheck for P0171 and/or P0172.

    • If the pressure is too low. Check the fuel pump, the fuel feed pipe, the fuel filter, and the fuel pressure regulator.
  1. Start the engine. Hold the engine at 3,000 rpm with no load (in neutral) until the radiator fan comes on.
  2. Check the primary HO2S (Sensor 1) output with the scan tool. Does it stay less than 0.3 V or more than 0.6 V ? YES - Replace the primary HO2S (Sensor 1). NO - Go to step 4.
  3. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
  4. With a vacuum pump, apply vacuum to the EVAP canister purge valve from the intake manifold side. Does it hold vacuum? YES - Check the valve clearances and adjust if necessary. If the valve clearances are OK, replace the fuel injectors. NO - Replace the EVAP canister purge valve.
