Question about 2002 Chevrolet Impala
The bulb exploded when water from a carwash loosened the headlight cover. The dealer wants to replace the entire headlight assembly for more than $300. It seems there must be a way to replace the bulb and reseal the headlight cover. Am I wrong?
There are headlight assemblies available on Ebay for as low as $50 each. I removed mine and drilled a couple 3/8" holes in the bottom to drain the water, and had no more problems.
The headlights are easy to remove. There are two white tabs on each light. Pull them up about 1/2" and the headlight can be pulled out straight forward (after unplugging the wires).
