Shifter stuck and wouldn't move I hit and punched shifter button several times and finally it would move. Now the button won't pop out all the way and I can't turn the ignition key to the fully off position. The car stays in the ACC mode and I can't remove the key.

I had this problem. To get your key out a pencil or thin bolt 2-3" long is needed. Look under the steering wheel and you will see a hole (not a screw hole). Press up with the pencil and you will depress a lever and you can turn and remove your key. You can keep doing this forever, if you like, but the problem is the neutral Park switch which is located under the console where the shifter is. When you get the cover off, which takes a little patience, you will see a switch up towards the top near the Park position. There is a broken or shorted wire that connects to that switch. I think in mine and maybe yours the wire was installed in a bad spot and got pinched, eventually it breaks or wears thru. How it works is when you put it in park it touches thaat switch which turn on a tiny sloenoid in your key mechanism which depress that lever you pushed with you pencil, and you can then turn off the car and remove your key! Fix the broken wire and you are back in business.

yes, there is a shiftlock sensor, so you can only take the key out when in park.
Getting at it requires removal of the center console.
When you have it in park - give it a little tap forward before turning off the vehicle.

There is a hole under the steering column right near the ignition switch, if the key gets stuck, stick a pen or something in the hole, you will feel the little lever move and you can remove the key.

Possibly shift interlock problem check the btsi fuse in the instrument fuse panel. There is a shift lock actuator in the column or center console that could be your culprit depending on if you have a column or floor shifter.

you have either a faulty shifter assembly or the ignition shift interlock cable that runs between ignition cylinder and shifter assembly it is very common for the cables that causes this.
