There are 2-3 bushings underneath the car that can be changed.....they are about 5-7 dollars each that you can pick up at the dealership and do it yourself...it's not hard at all...drive it on ramps and chock the wheels to make it safe....get underneath and then have someone in the drivers seat to shift the gears(while it's off) so you can see where the moving points are, then just undo the bolts and replace the bushings or you can just remove or loosen the bolts and lubricate them with lots of grease....I would try the grease first, it should do the trick...Kia will charge you about $130 to do it for you...

I have a 2003 Kia Rio 4dr, 5 speed. I just had the clutch replaced in May and have a warranty of 12,000 miles or 12 months. Two days ago the clutch pedal went soft (spongy) on me and I had a hard time...

No not the garages fault the operating arm is no doubt split or broke and this is not the fault of the new clutch but a thing that just goes wrong ,and it a kia and they are not a very good car to start with ,cheap and cheerful is one description that comes to mind ,But they shouldnt need to take teh box out again as most clutch operating arms are bolted on to the bearing operating shaft .

Where is the overdrive button in a 2004 KIA Rio

Look on the gear shift just below the handle, it is just below the thumb button. It will be easy to feel but can be harder to see.

Transmission problems

This is what my 04 Kia Rio is doing exactly. I was told that the TCM and Shift Solenoid "C" is faulty. Am trying to figure out how to go about fixing that without paying more than the car is worth. My tech checked with the local Kia dealership and the TCM new is I think around $700. You also have to buy the program to tell this high dollar part what to do and that is right at $100. I have found that sometimes if I let the car warm up and then keep hitting the overdrive button, eventually it starts shifting correctly.
