SOURCE: Steady squeaking noise after taking foot off accelerator

sounds like you have a pad rubbing on a disk/rotor, if you jolt the brakes does the noise go away? if so it's probably a pad loose

Have your belt checked for wear, if it is ok- just tighten it. Should take only a few minutes but if you over tighten it this could put a strain on the generator and water pump causing the bearings in one or the other to fail.

SOURCE: Squeaking... pully maybe?

the ac belt is sperate from the power steering belt.. sounds to me you need to replace the belts (both of them) but theres a idler pully in the middle of them all witch may have a bearing going out on it..i had to change mine at about 85,000.. when i had the belts off i spun the pully and it was excessivly stiff cause'n slipage and also a squel.. hope its not the alt, or water pump making the noise..they can run ya into some $$

SOURCE: lights and fan belt squeaking

The fan belt is probably just getting a bit older and drying out...so it creates the effect like rubber sneakers on a waxed floor...very squeaky. It shouldn't hurt your performance, and might be able to be remedied with chalk in powder form.

A small amount of this has helped stop squeaky belts before, but generally, a new fan belt doesn't cost much to get installed. If the fan belt itself is visibly cracking or chipping in a place where it bends, it's time to get a new one.

As for the light problems...it's probably a fuse. You could check the lights themselves, but it's probably a fuse issue. Your fuse box will either be somewhere on the topside of your engine compartment, or near the steering column somewhere on the dashboard's underside. Best of luck!

SOURCE: there is a squealing noise when I turn on the air

check the belt for cracks, if belt look ok adjust it, some times the belt will come out of adjustment. After you have adjusted the belt if it still makes that squealing noise the a/c compressor could be locking up and will have to be replace.

Not sure how old the belts on your car are but a loose or worn belt will do exactly what you are explaining. You can inspect the belt for cracks and see if it needs adjusting or replacing.

My 2003 Subaru Forester AC compressor squeaks at startup, then stops squeaking. Is my AC Compressor failing?

Not likely. The belt may be old and stretched. A small adjustment to the tensioner or replacing the belt should help.

Air conditioner belt squeaks. When you turn the a/c on it starts making this awful noise. The tension of the belt is ok(checked )

hallclifford that is a very basic and limited answer. My belt has been squeaking even after I got brand new belts. The answer below is more comprehensive.

Check your belt tension first and the condition of your belt
Second if those are ok start the car and have someone turn the ac on while your looking at your compressor. If its locked up it will cause the pulley to stop spinning creating the noise.
OR we could get way technical here and say you have a crank and cam seals leaking or a leaking power steering pump getting oil on your ac belt.
Check the obvious first and if it still does it I would take it to a trusted mechanic.

AC Belt squeaks on my 2002 Lexus es300

When belts squeak it's either from dryness wear or tension / tightness / looseness affecting alignment.

Check for tightness and you can spray with belt dressing and try some WD40 on the compressor pulley.

If none of that doesn't stop it it very well could be the clutch or pulley is stiff from non use and could need replacing soon.

05 XL-7 I changed my old belts (with no squeaking) now one of the new belts squeaks loud, mostly in the morning when neighbors can hear and give dirty looks, like "get a new belt you incompetent grease...

Take a bar of soap at touch it on the side of belt when it is running. Becareful!!! or spray some WD40 on it. Should stop it. If not it must be something wrong with whatever it is running. If that is a serpentine belt spray it. Soap is good on v-belts.

Belt squeaks when AC turns on

Your belt is not tight enough. Are you using the power steering pump to adjust? (right way) or doing something else? Keep tension on the pump and tighten the pivot bolt first.
