Question about Saab 9
Hi, i have a 1997 OPEL CORSA, it has a 1.4 petrol ecotec engine i went to start it but it wouldnt spark at all. i have tried replacing the coil ack adn the distributor cap but it still isnt working. someone told me about an "engine spped sensor" aka "crankshaft sensor" but i dont know were this is in my car, could this be the problem or is there others possible faults? please help!!! (PS: THE LIST DIDNT HAVE OPLE SO I CHOSE SAAB RANDOMLY) THANKS
ITS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE ENGINE NEAR THE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY, IF YOU STAND IN FRONT OF THE CAR FACING THE WINDSCREEN , ITS ON YOUR LEFT , IT ACTUALLY READS OFF THE PULLEY TOOTHED WHEEL, IT FITS ONTO A BRACKET HELD BY A TORX BOLT , ITS ALSO VERY CLOSE TO THE PULLEY AND HAS A CABLE CONNECTED TO IT

If ur car has a distribuitor it wont have a crankshaft sensor, the problem might be in your distribuitor, check the connector and its connection to the inner coil of the distribuitor... u said it was a ecotec engine, as far as i know ecotecs are 16 valve engines, in your case it would be a x14xe engine, with two camshafts, but that engine has a ignition coil, no distribuitor hope this helps
