Front left leak

I have a leak in the front left area of my 2003 grand prix. It looks like reddish oil. A loose cap? I can see the leak dripping from a part just behind the light. Thanks

Red oil is usually Transmission fluid, if this is the case, the item you are discribing is likely the transmission cooler. If you can gain access to this area, you need to check the connections, as the may have just worked loose. Also check your transmission oil level to prevent any possible damage to the trans. If you cannot repair the laek with tightening the connections, then you will need to determine if it is the line or the cooler that is leaking and replace as needed.

Hope this is of some help.

I would take it back and have them check it and the trans oil level, that and the power steering, it is also red in color. and may be a loose cap.

Good luck, have a great weekend.

Antifreeze leak from rear of engine on pontiac grand prix

Rule out leak from water pump. What engine is it - 3.0 3.8. Could be intake manifold gasket. Have the cooling system pressurized, about 12 lbs. and look for leak, bubbles.
check oil for coolant in oil also. Possible head gasket leak.

Hi, I have a fiat doblo cargo 2003, leaking oil. When I park up - the oil drips closer to (but not right at) the front of vehicle, and to the left hand side (drivers' side) - could this be the oil...

Try wiping the engine off in that area with some rags, then watch for where the oil leak comes from. If it's the filter seal, you should see oil on the filter dripping off.

I have a leak on left side front what could it be?

What kind of leak? Is it a clear liquid like water condinsation coming from the air conditioner?
Or is it grean or reddish like antifreeze? Is your water temp. lite coming on or gauge running hot?
Is it a dark thick liquid like oil or transmission fluid? Have you checked your oil level?
Tell us more about the leak, what does the fluid look like? Is it a lot like a puddle or little drips?
Need as much information as possible
Thanks

Something leaking and dripping off the bottom of the skirt at the front of the car

Hi, could be many things. First you should determine what type of fluid has leaked. If it is green or orange color and feels like water and slimy, it is most likely coolant. If it it reddish and oily, transmission fluid. If it is brownish to black and oily, probably engine oil. Bluish/purpleish/clear and like water it is windshield wiper solvent.
Second is to look underneath the area of the vehicle and try to determine which component the leak originated from. If you can determine those 2 things, repost the findings for further assistance.

Please vote if this helped! Thanks, Mike

Where do you check the power steering fluid? I think mine is leaking if it is reddish in color.

There is a reservoir attached to your power steering pump, which is mounted on the front of your engine. A stick gauge is attached to the reservoir cap when you remove it. Add the proper power steering oil directly into that reservoir if needed. Do not overfill, respect gauge mark.

If it's a power steering fluid leak, most probable it comes from a bad seal of your steering box pitman arm shaft. If it's the case, you can verify it, looking from under the vehicule, the bottom of your gear box will be covered of dirty oil.

However, reddish color fluid leak could also come from the cooling circuit of your automatic transmission or from the pan of your transmission. In conclusion, a visual check by under the vehicule will help to diagnose the origin.
Hope it will help.

Clear oil dripping out of radiator, why?

The clear oil leaking from the Radiator? Are you sure its not leaking from the a/c condenser? That oil is almost clear in color. The other oil that flows through the radiator is the transmission fluid, and it's usually a reddish, brown color. Please have this issue checked for early repairs, and may be possible to be a cheap repair. Thank you.

Leaking A LOT of oil - looks like from on top of the filter. It doesn't seem like the lifters are getting oil because they are loud

It could be the oil pressure sensor for the oil light or guage.I have seen this before after age and heat plus vibration could cause it to crack and leak a lot of oil like you describe.Get it fixed asap.It should be easy to unscrew with a wrench or large socket .Buy the new sensor first though so you can replace it once you get the old one out.It leaks alot because of oil pressure from the oilpump pressurizes the rest of the engine bearings. It could break altogether and pump all your oil out and ruin your engine.
