Question about 1992 Ford Taurus
Car runs fine. However when I put the gear into drive or reverse the car sometimes and frequently now, stays in neutral.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

sounds like the shift linkage has fell off
look under the hood of your car and have someone move the shifter
look for the movement and see is it is hooked up
give me feed back if this helps

Testimonial: "good help. this exactly what my 2000 taurus is doing too. and the answer is sounds like it is the key to my problem. taurus is a darn good car!!!!!"
SOURCE: Hi I have a 2005
cannot be sure here without a on site inspection but i would hazard a guess and say the flex drive plate has broke around the crankshaft retaining bolts ,its a gearbox out job to repair ,the plate holds the torque converter in position to the engine crank ,Dont get this problem with a manual transmission
