From my experience, the halo is what detects the rf signal from the head of the key. the halo (or transreiver ring) is located around the key cylinder. it could be malfunctioning. also, some keys have a capsule inside them that generates the signal. i have seen some keys where the capsule falls out. do you have another key and does it work. do you have a remote start system on your truck? hope this helps

Try disconnecting your battery cables then wait about 10 minutes. The computer should reset itself. Reconnect the wires to the battery. It is normal for the theft light to blink about every 5 seconds when the ignition key is out or in the off position. This means the system is armed and working properly. Hope this helps. God bless!
