Pull the pump. Take the belt iff then there is 2 screws holding it to motor. Loosten those and remove the lines. Remove the bolts and the pump. With the pump out you can see 2it black metal clips that facten the resevor to the pump. Pry the tabs up with a screwdriver and knock the clips off with a hammer. Find a new resevor or reseal the old where it leaked and your good to go. But good luck if you break it or have to buy resevor because they are hard to find. Did one on my old jeep. Buddy had one sittin around. Only reason i got it. No where would sell me just the resevor. Not even a junkyard.

SOURCE: Power steering fluid leaking.

Year and mileage? Keep the fluid level up so you don't damage the power steering pump, and return to the garage that serviced it. This sounds like something wasn't tightened properly, and they should correct the problem. It is possible that a power steering hose or the pump itself developed a leak, but, it is most likely something that wasn't tightened properly. That's the best diagnosis that can be given w/out actually being able to see the vehicle.

Where is the power steering pump on a 1997 buick leSabre 3800

ou are looking at the engine, on the left (passenger side) will be the belt. The alternator should be at the top of the belts route. directly below the alt is the tensioner/pulley (small) Below and to the rear of the vehicle is the power steering pump. The resevoir is attached to the pump. If you reach/look over the engine and feel below the heater hoses you will see the p/s pump resevoir cap

Power steering hose to rack and pinion is leaking how to replace

drain the fluid from the power steering resevoir undo the hose fittings from both ends and remove from the car, replace with the new one, top up the resevoir and turn the steering from side to side then recheck the fluid level.
your hose may run through an outer protection cover which will need to be removed first before removing the hose

1999 Lesabre Custom, weak power steering

first check the fluid but when its low it will make a whining sound so not that likely if you are not hearing anything. the way to check the fluid is to take the cap of the resevoir and it has a dipstick on it. the resevoir is on the power steering pump which on your car i believe is on the belt side of the engine between the engine and the firewall. what is most likely your problem is that your pump is worn out and needs to be changed.

Location of power steering reservoir

This pump sits down below tha alternator. If it does not have a remote resevoir than the resevoir sits on top of the pump. It is a pain to get to.
