SOURCE: Can I change my cabin air filters on my 2007 Kia

It is a regtangular shaped box located behind the glove box. You gently remove the stoppers on both sides of the box and allow it to hang freely on its hinges . Then you will see the filter assembly.

The filter elememt rests sideways within a frame that you slide out by gently pressing on the clips at either end. You install by reversing the procedure. That's it, enjoy your fresh air......

The dealer wants $48 for one here in South Florida , I've seen them for about $40. with the shipping on the net .

Update:
All Kia Optima's can be fitted with the cabin air filter. The blower housing is used in other Kia and Hyundai models as well. The manufacturer uses the filter as a selling point for their premium offerings. On the Optima they simply fail to install a filter in the housing. The removable cover is still there. If you search hard enough in eBay motors you will find them. I paid $12. + $8. shipping.

I recommend using the above instructions to get to the blower housing, then vacuum out the narrow area the filter slides into. Mine had accumulated leaves and tree bark from parking outdoors. The filter is effective at stopping debris from flying out of the vents.

SOURCE: locate cabin air filter for

Hi. The 2006 Kia sorento is not equipped wiht a cabin air filter. Only the 07 and 08 sorentos are equipped wiht this filter. With that said; If your vehicel had a filter, it would be located just behind the glove box. If you were to access it for replacment, you would Open the glove box and remove the side stops so the glove box can swing fully down and hang on its hinges. Once that is done, you will be able to access to the cabin air filter and the clips which hold it in place.

Location of cabin air filter

If your model has one, it should be behind a panel behind the glove box. Not all models were equipped with a filter.
There are videos on youtube that show installation for each model.

2005 Kia Sportage ac does not blow for a few days then next morning it will be fine again

There may be a cabin filter, but you should still hear the blower running even if the filter is clogged.
A mechanic would check for voltage and ground at the blower motor when it does not work.

2005 Kia Sorento cabin air filter

On the Sportage you remove the two support cables and then push the sides of the box in to get past the stops.
I would think the Sorento would be the same.

Why are my winows not defogging on the inside of my 2000 kia sportage

The KIA Sportage needs the temp controller switch turned to the heat/defrost side AND you need to hit the Air Conditioner Condenser button on the dash that look similar to a recycle symbol. It is not the same as the switch next to it that is a recirculate cabin air symbol. The button you want, normally turn green when activated in combination with the fan being turned on.

Blower is working but minimal air flow out of vents??

The 2005-2007 models have a thin cabin air filter that is easily clogged with time. This leads to decreased airflow from the vents. You can obtain the filter from your local parts store for about 15 dollars. Your owners manual may show how to change it and the location. Otherwise you can google for instructions or go to www.kia-forums.com where some users have posted directions and diagrams. Good Luck
