If the starter is the original, it may be in need of replacement.

SOURCE: How do I replace the timing belt and the crankshaft sensor ?

if you have never done one take it to a shop because if you have the timing off a little you take a chance of bending valves then you would need a new head

2004 Kia sorento took it to amaco as i thought there was a slight slip in the transmission. they completly over looked what i asked them to check and right away wanted me to change the time belt.

You should not post your email address online.
If the car has over 100,000 miles the timing belt should be replaced, but if the check engine light is on the first thing you do is get the computer scanned for trouble codes.
The check engine light is warning the driver the computer has a problem with something that can affect performance and emissions.

Ac blowing cold then just stopped and wont work 2004 kia sorento 3.5L compresser clutchs not kicking on or off

Check the relay. You can check it with a multi meter to see if the relay is opening and closing correctly. If the relay if good, check the temperature sensor. Hope this helped.

2004 KIA Sorento, heater problems

Hi. I just had the same problem after I took my 05 sorento in for service. I called the shop back and they told me the system had to be burped after the coolant level gets low( they neglected to refill my system at the dealership also). To do this you must fill the coolant tank to the proper level, park the vehicle on an incline(with the front of the vehicle being highest), and allow vehicle to heat up with the heat on. it worked for my 05.
