Question about Saturn L300

1 Answer

What is the procedure for replacing the spark plugs on the 2.2L engine for a 2004 Saturn L300? I have never worked on an engine with the newer ignition systems. Is this something I can do or should a professional be consulted? Thank you for any advice you can give. Regards, Frank

That part sounds simple enough but I am more concerned about the aparatus on top of the engine that contains the coil. There are four screws that appear to hold that down. Do I simply loosen them and remove that part. Should I disconnect the wire harness that goes to it first? Any suprises I should be made aware of? That's what I don't have experience with.

    Thanks for your help!

very simple, remove theold plugs with a 5/8" plug socket, gap the new plugs to specification and screw them in and tighten them to about 40 foot pounds of torque.

Remove the 4 10mm bolts on the ignition module and pull it out then you can remove the plugs. the module is the 4"x12" black box on top of the valve cover that says ecotech on it.

I need to know how to change the spark plugs on a Saturn L300 2003 model.. its a Twin cam V6

Check for 6 cables in probably 3 on the right and 3 and the left. Disconnect the cables and you should see the spark plug. Wrench them out with a deep socket. The hardest part is getting the thread distance right. like for my car its .032 cm. ask for you size where ever you get your spark plugs. Then tighten spark plugs in with the right torque or until its firm then put the cables back over.

2001 Saturn L300 transmission shifter does not shift when car is started, foot on brake. It remains in park. Can't shift transmission into grear. a clicking noise is heard

Almost all newer cars have a safety that won't allow you to shift without a foot on the brake. These are either cable or electric solenoid activated. They fail, so check your owners manual, as it will have the procedure to get it to shift, untill you can get it fixed correctly.

Where are the spark plugs on a 2007 saturn vue 3.5 v6

This is not correct spark plug replacement for the 3.5 liter Honda engine in the 2004 and newer Saturn Vues. The spark plugs are simply underneath the coil packs right on the the top of the valve covers. You do not need to take off the intake manifold to change the spark plugs on the 3.5 liter v6

2004 Saturn L300 6 cyl. Car will run fine but will not turn over for several hours after it has been stopped. Once it sits it fires right up

The starter and or solenoid on your Saturn L300 would need to be replaced. I would first replace the solenoid. When your engine heats up there is too much resistance to allow it to engage. I have seen this problem on 5 other saturns and the solenoid is very inexpensive. Hope this helps!
