Hi, you problem is the rail oil pressure sensor having a high voltage input -  P0193 code set . This will also cause your faults . 
Change the sensor which is under the cam cover and the smaller of the two there and it will run ok .
You need the sensor set up on a tech II after fitting to run at its best.

WHY DOES MY ISUZU 4HL1 ENGINE HAVE A HARD START ALWAYS?


no car stated, huge NPR truck no less.
no year stated
so no free book information on that engine,.
big diesel. 4HL1, no dash letter?
compression at spec.?
glow plugs work.,
filters clean. water in fuel,
does test fuel (spray'd) help? ???
injection problems

what car, or what truck... name it and weight class if truck.
what year.
what country.?
Diesel. H engine.

did you google for that. first.
we dont have many running Isuzu here, in USA, so finding facts here is hard. (a USA forum.)
alldata.com does cover what was sold here.but only for USA cars.

Elf with engine 4hl1. Where can I get a wiring diagram?


in what country?
what year ELF.?
wiring,of what?
the whole truck, or just engine, electrics.
Isuzu sells a book, that covers this, ask them yet?
as you can see its direct injected.
and injections systems are not the same for every country. (smog laws. etc)
get it scanned yet.

The gas in the tank actually provides cooling to your fuel pump.My best guess is that you ran low on fuel and the pump (which could have been marginal) has had it due to overheating.You will have to get the fuel system pressure checked to be sure or remove the main fuel line and see if fuel comes out.Have a bucket ready just in case.Good luck

I have a 1993 Isuzu Trooper S with SOHC. I recently had the water pump replaced. When I drove it home I noticed all of the "Warning Lights" were on ("Check Transmission", "Fuel Tank" and others). It...


I think they put the timing belt on backwards. If your isuzu is like mine, the water pump gets changed when you do the belt, that way you don't have to go back in there, it is a job, not hard, but it takes time. If they didn't get the belt timing right, your cam will be in pieces in 11 miles. Or,,,, they needed something off your car and took it, or,,, the alternator belt is not charging, it will send the dash board into a light show, and a blown fuse will upset the tranny, and the dash board. Hope this helps.
