Question about 2000 Chevrolet Blazer
Most common problems are broken wires or a defective switch. The switch may even "light up" when you turn it on but not work. The wiring from the vehicle body to the rear hatch which is enclosed in a fexible rubber hose is the most common source of problems because the wires have to bend or flex every time you open or close the hatch. Over time the wiring can break inside and you may not see any visible break in the wire. Give a good tug (pull) on each wire. If the wire inside is broken the outer insulation will strech when you pull on it to reveal a broken wire that looked ok. hope this helps

SOURCE: Hello, I want to put
Yes, you can grab power from the rear defog at the switch or the power wire under the dash at relay for mirrors, most of these trucks come prewired, so if its an option they just add heated mirrors, the wires are all in place on the newer one, check yours and see, the only thing you would need if prewired is the switch and the mirrors.this being a 97 might not be prewired but like you said you can wire it, you have the right idea this way the mirror work when the defrost is on, i will see if i can give you a wiring diagram of the rear defrost. hope this helps.

Testimonial: "Thanks, I cannot see the diagram very well, and cant blow it up, just makes it blur more. Was this from All Data site? I do not have general access to that. I will try the Purple Wire tie in.. I think it says PPL, not sure. I f I go in through the relay center top left, this would be hot all the time and not cut off I think. If this is the relay center picture"
