Hi, sounds like your transmission is in limp in mode. Do you have any dash lights on like check engine light, these problems should set a code. You should have a local shop look at this or your dealer to get the codes out lot of time it might not turn check engine light on. who ever does it need to be able to read history codes. Your local parts store don't have the right scan tool to do this. if i can help just re post

2001 Chevy S10 4x4 4L60E transmission works perfectly until 50MPH then I lose 3rd and 4th gear, 1st, 2nd and reverse are normal. Never happenend before, been parked since. Fluid is clean. Any ideas?


Are there any DTC's - diagnostic trouble codes ?in the PCM / BCM ? You have third an fourth below 50 mph but above 50 it down shifts to 2nd gear ,is this what your saying or you don't have 3rd or 4th gears at all ? My 2005 Pontiac Bonneville GXP will not shift into 4th gear I was to it was a fourth gear band but is that the only problem that will cause itI'notto shift into 4th gear

DEFINITION: A large engine RPM increase is noted in fourth gear, Drive range, with little or no vehicle forward speed increase. First, second, and third gear operation are normal. Shifts into fourth gear are soft or do not occur. Fourth gear ratio is 0.705:1.

99 dodge caravan code po 734 what does it mean


P0734 is a transmission code. The code description is: Additional gear ratio in fourth gear. The most likely cause is the input speed sensor on the transmission, a common problem. The sensor is located on the side of the transmission facing the grill right above the solenoid pack. You need to check the resistance of the sensor. It should be between 500 to 700 ohms. If it tests open, the sensor is bad. If not check the connection and the wiring.

Please,can you help me fix cods problems p0732,p0734 on my 2006 Mazda Tribute


P0732 - Improper Ratio for Second Gear.
P0734 - Improper Ratio for Fourth Gear.

This diagnosis monitors actual gear position by checking the torque converter slip ratio calculated by TCM as follows:

Torque converter slip ratio = A x C/B A: Output shaft revolution signal from revolution sensor B: Engine speed signal from ECM C: Gear ratio determined as gear position which TCM supposes

If the actual gear position is higher than the position (2nd and 4th) supposed by TCM, the slip ratio will be more than normal. In case the ratio exceeds the specified value, TCM judges this diagnosis malfunction.

This malfunction will be caused when shift solenoid valve B is stuck open.

Gear positions supposed by TCM are as follows. In case of gear position with no malfunctions: 1 , 2, 3 and 4 positions In case of gear position with shift solenoid valve B stuck open: 4* , 3, 3 and 4 positions to each gear position above.

Symptoms: Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)

Diagnostic trouble code A/T 2ND GR FNCTN with CONSULT-II or P0732 without CONSULT-II is detected when A/T cannot be shifted to the 2nd gear position even if electrical circuit is good.

Possible Causes:
- Shift solenoid valve B
- Each clutch
- Hydraulic control circuit

2004 is not sifting into drive doesnot slip it just dont sift


Is it not shifting into OD? It should shift from first to second, then second to third, and third into fourth which is od. I'm not quit sure which forward gear you are meaning.

My transmission slips going through second gear if i get my foot in it just a little bit, and it doesnt always go into reverse. if i shift into reverse and it doesnt shift, i have to shift to neutral then...


this problem is a common failure associated with your shift solenoinds inside your tranny. of course a shop is not gonna tell you this because by the time you wanna get it repaired it is usually too late and have already cause damage to your clutch pack and internal parts, thats the main reason why a shop wont mess with just replacing your shift solenoid (aka valve bodie)

i had a few of these pop up. The PCM and the ECM had a brain fart. Have the codes cleared and if you have the same luck as me all will be back to normal. That was the fix...
