If the car is fuel injected then the coolent temperature sensor is faulty and needs replacing, if its carburator then it's got a sticking auto choke.
The coolent temp sensor tells the ecu how much more fuel to put in governed on the engine coolant temperature, if the sensor is faulty it does not know that it should be putting more fuel in.

There is a check valve located in the fuel line to prevent the fuel from draining back out of the line into the tank. It is normally located on the engine side of the fuel pump and can be in the pump itself. If you have a mechanical fuel pump you will have to crank it over until the pump pushes the fuel back up to the engine. With an electric pump just turn on the ignition and wait a few seconds to permit the pump to push the fuel up. An other indication of this being the problem is if the car will start up right after shutting of. Good luck

I have a corsa utility 2004. Starts fine and once warmed up will cut out. will battle to start again and backfires sometimes. Once started it goes well with out further problems until the next day.

I would replace the spark plugs . Hmm, backfiring is usually a fault in the spark, bad plug wire or coil. Intermittent missing is tough to find unless you test the wires when it starts acting up by putting another plug into the cap and grounding it, have someone turn the engine over to see it's nice blue spark. Ignition modules will cause same problem when they go bad, check for bad or shorted wires to ignition .

Renault Clio Series, 1.4 16valve - starting problems.

clio can get problems with the dispacks fitted to the spark plugs. i would check them. the stop is to say something is wrong, if it don't get a signal or a voltage drop when something is turned on it turns off ecu functions. my friend had this model and had the same fault, replaced them and the fault went away. usually get a misfire when they on way out, but sometimes they just die.

My renault clio doesnt start but turns over and then i leave the ignition on and take a relay out and knock it a few times out it back then it starts.this happenes everyday.

wiring connector going to injection unit on right side of engine disconnect it clean terminals with screwdriver and sand paper wet and dry preferabely once this is done spray connectors ,reconnect it and joddle the all other electrical connections on engine spray all with wd40 once this is done the car will start you could try starting car after each connection worked on common fault on these cars also if its a immobiliser fault reset sequence as follows remove key from ign lock up car holding key in locked position count to 30 seconds then unlock car,put key in the ignition to third position( ie key position before starter is engaged) wait 20 seconds then remove key reinsert and car will start if not go through sequence again
