Question about 1991 Toyota MR2
I just acquired 91 MR2 it had set for some time. The ignition coil was missing, was told it literally smoked. I installed a new ignition coil. It has a new cap and rotor. I'm not getting any spark from the coil. So engine wont start. The trunk lid leaks so I'm afraid the ecu could be bad but will take any advice I can get.

Try spraying starter fluid into the throttlebody...if it starts or fires, your fuel pump is bad. It will cost something around the $300-$400 mark to replace. Hope this helps!

Sounds like you have a bad one-way check valve in the fuel pump. It is not serviced seperatly. A replacement fuel pump might be your answer.
