You will have to unplug the in-tank unit's connector, and figure out which wire is the fuel level sender. If you ground it,the gauge will go to full or empty(can't remember which)and it will go to the opposite extreme when you unground it.(Most likely the sender is bad,and if you are pulling out the in-tank unit,do yourself a favor and replace the fuel pump at the same time).

SOURCE: need fuse box diagram 2002 gmc envoy

If I remember correctly if you look at the back side of the fuse cover, it should tell you what the fuses are. Also in the owners manual in the index, under fuses, it should give you a diagram of the fuse location for the acc. outlets. Good luck. The fuse should be a 20 or 25A fuse.

SOURCE: where is the fuse box for a 2003 gmc envoy

There are two fuse boxes/block

One fuse block is located under the hood in the engine

compartment on the driver's side of the vehicle.

Remove the primary cover by pressing the two locking

tabs. Remove the secondary cover by snapping off

while lifting. To reinstall the fuse panel cover, reverse
the sequence.

The 2nd fuse box is located under the rear seat cushion

Gas needle wont move

If it is showing that it is empty, the float may have sank. However, the cause could be the gauge in the dash or the sender and the sender is in the tank. It is not easy to change because you have to drop the tank. It is cheaper to replace the sender than it is to change the dash because the dash guages are all on one unit. However there are tests that can be run to see what the issue is and the tests are done using meters and jumpers etc to see if the guage responds to those. Then they know whether it is the sender or the guage.

I have a 2003 GMC Envoy water temperature guage does not work every thing else on dash works

check the temp gauge sender unit normally located at the front of the cylinder head it will have a wire on it, by removing the wire and grounding it, this will make the temp gauge go to full. If so replace the sender unit, if not recomend after market gauge reccomended

I have a 1989 gmc 6000 with a 8.2L detroit. the fuel guage does'nt work can i get the wiring diagram for that system to see where the problem is. How do i know it its the wiring or the sending unit itself.

check the fuse in the fuse box it my have blown very comen problem with this modal if its ok then the sender unit in the fuel tank is not working then if you know how to take the fuel tank off then do so then take sender unit out and test it in most casies its the unit best to replace it they are not to expensive to replace
