Question about Chrysler Voyager
Wont reverce and stops driveing after 30 seconds
The transmission control module (TCM), located on the right side underhood fenderwell. It uses a 60-way connector and is held in place by a 5/16"/ 8mm hex bolt. Unscrewing the bolt will pull the connector off the controller.
I hate doing this until you've exhausted every possibility of having the system scanned because information will be lost. BUT if disconnecting the TCM brings your van back to running condition, it can be assumed there is a problem with the controller or with its wiring. You still will be lacking the PRND2L and speedometer functions because they're supplied by the TCM but the key is whether it improves.
If you have a digital voltmeter, the CCD bus can be checked at the data link connector... the odd trapezoid-shaped unit below the dash on the driver's side. The third terminal from the left in each of the two rows of terminals is a CCD wire.
You should see 2.3 to 2.5 volts on each wire with the key ON and the voltage should be dancing, changing output rapidly indicating data is being sent on the circuit.
See what you can do about getting the van scanned next and let me know what happens.
