Question about Cars & Trucks
How to change egr valve and symtoms
Some egr valves are tough to remove. It has a ball bearing in it and acts like a valve to let air out of the crankcase that carries unburned fuel but it rattles back and forth as the air pushes then pulls. The fuel then mixes with the new fuel to be reburned. Once the egr valve is off it should rattle. If it doesn't you can clean it with carburetor cleaner or other. Sometimes just replacing it is quicker in this disposable society we have.

It may not have one. If your unsure, haven't verified it has one due to many newer engines not needing them anymore, check an online parts store like advanceautoparts.com or autozone.com to see if its offered or even call around to see if its offered. If you know it has one, then check between the exhaust and the intake manifold. If there is a 1/2 inch metal tube on the intake then trace it back and you should find the EGR valve.
