SOURCE: what is the antipullution fault on peugeot 406?

If you drive your car more likely for short distances then the regenerating process couldn't be started to clean the cloged particulate filter and finally your car's ecu show you a antipollution fault. Drive your car to a motorway or dual carriage way.

The temperature meter should be showing above 70°C when you begin with this process. If this is the case, slow down place 3rd gear and drive at 3000-3500 rev /min to let the ecu to kick the regeneration process. Keep driving car 15 minutes in this state will be enough to solve this problem.

Any body got ideas engine light came on with anti pollution warning light on my peugeot 308 diesel year 08 any suggestions please thanks Darren .

I have no clue about your car, but I did do a search for your problem and found this, I hope it helps you out.

If you drive your car more likely for short distances then engine will not get hot enough to start the regenerating process to clean the cloged particulate filter resulting in a antipollution fault.

Drive your car to a motorway or empty dual carriage way (best in nights). The temperature meter should be showing above 60°C when you begin with this process. Place 3rd gear and drive your car at 3000-3500 rev /min for 15 to 20 minutes to let the ecu to kick the regeneration process. Keep driving car for 15 minutes in this state will be enough to clean your catalytic converter and your problem will be solved. But if it doesn't then the problem is with your catalytic converter and more probabily you need to change it.

Antipollution fault in my car Peugeot 406. What should i do? Sent my car to Peugeot service, they said the timing belt needs to be changes asap as I drove 95000KM (saying i should have changed it at...

It's a wonder the belt and the sparkers have resisted so long beyond their certified end of life. If you have maintained the car in this way no wonder you now have so many problems - a lot of other parts have reached their end of life long ago and must be immediately replaced. To be sure perform a full revision of the car, starting with the breaks - the fluid in them should have been replaced every 2 years.

You need to have a fault scan done to identify what's triggering the light. There's many possibilities, the scan will identify the exact cause.

yes its safe to drive ,either a lambada sensor is faulty or the particle filter exhaust silencer is blocked ,take it to a mechanic to have it diagnosed because of the complexity of this vehicles emmision controls ,and the cost of a new cat
