The fill hole is a bolt on the side you got to run a gear oil hose like a flexible tube about 5/8 inch wide ...when it gets level some will leak a little then blast in forcing more in and put the bolt in ..slightly over fill manuals is ok ...

the oil filler and level indicator are usually at the same point which is usually on the side of the gearbox. removethe plug, fill the gear box with the correct oil until the oil starts to pour back out of the plug hole. then replace the plug. (basically)

Crunching when changing gears on a pajero

check the oil level of the gearbox, if level is low or oil is too thin will cause it to crunch. put an 80w90 gear oil into it if needs fill or change/ also check the clutch is fully disengaged. maybe clutch hydraulics have air in the system, this will reduce the travel of the clutch fork and not fully disengage the clutch. to see if its the clutch hydraulics select 1st gear push in the clutch and start the engine, if it starts to creep forward check out the hydraulics. if all this ok, prob be the synchro rings internal in the gearbox

How do I put gearbox fluid in ? Where is the level glass? I have a 1997 mitsubishi magna

Gearboxes usually have no oil dipstick / looking glass. On the side of the gearbox there's a bolt with (brass) washer. This is where the gearbox oil goes. To check the level is to stick one finger in downwards, when there's no oil at this level its usually too low.

On the bottom of the gearbox there's a similar bolt with washer to drain the old oil. The bolt can be magnetic - and can look a bit like a mushroom. Tiny particles from the gears stick on there - this is normal. Large bits of metal can be a cause for concern.

Always use the specified gearbox oil - wrong oil makes changing gears hard.

How do I add gear oil to 1996 toyoto tercel manual transmission, please ?

you need to do this under the vehicle, you should find a filler/level plug about half way up the gearbox housing, this is also the oil level plug, you will need a sump pump, this is like a very large syringe with a short hose on it, you put the hose into the oil container & pull out the handle to fill it up,put the hose into the filler plug hole then push the handle of the pump in slowly when the oil runs out of the filler plug the gearbox is full......hope this helps.....cheers

Checking Manaul transmission oil level on 2001

there is a plug about 1/2 way along the side of the gearbox about 1/2 way from bottom to top undo that plug and the oil level is the bottom of that hole . put your finger in and oil should be right at that edge. it is difficult to do on the ground it is best on a hoist or a ramp or over a pit . there is no dip stick for this job .
