Question about 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
It turns off when making a slow stop or making a turn
Sounds like your throttle body needs cleaned out, there is a small hole (orfice) inside above the butterfly topside of the throttle body ,that gets filled with varnish, carbon deposits, take off the t.b. and clean with throttle body cleaner, buy it at auto parts store, spray can.

first check the brake light fuse it powers the rear bulbs.
remove and verify that all bulbs are working. note the wire colors going to the bulbs. replace as needed.
next check the turn signal switch. if broken replace.
sometimes switches break on the inside so measure from the power lead to the outputs. The wires going to the bulbs. easy because they are on the bulbs you checked.
if you have towing package there will be a connector to hook up lights on the trailer. Inspect for bare wires or cuts in the insulation.
