Are you sure it is not just condensation? Are you getting oil in your water or water in your oil? If you have to ask how to take the heads off you probably should not be doing it. I would seek out someone who knows how to do it to help you with it. I doubt someone will be able to guide you on the computer.

R/T. overheated. Why is white smoke coming from the tailpipe?

might be steam coming out tail pipe. If steam you may have a blown head gasket which could put water into the cylinder that gets turned into steam and put out tail pipe.
If compression is getting into cooling system via blown head gasket then pressure builds in cooling system. A radiator repair place may be able to pressure test via the radiator cap to see if this is occurring while the engine is running.
If you have an alloy head you may also have cracked the head
A warped head is another possible problem .
This is expensive to fix as the engine head has to be sent to a head repair place to be fixed.
A compression test on your cylinders may give a diagnosis on if there is a head gasket problem .
The warps or cracked head can only be found out when the mechanic checks the head after pulling the top of the engine apart.

White smoke coming out of tail pipe and clutch goes to floor. What would cause this?

white smoke indicates[ steam ] that your burning coolant either by a blown headgasket ---intake gasket--cracked/warped head--cracked cylinder wall--check your coolant level should by low ----------clutch dont know type yr or model of vehicle so dont know if your clutch is hydraulic or dry older style spring --hydro style anything from slave gone bad to fork damage ---old style broken spring to fork damage throw out bearing damaged

My car is running out of Anti-freeze rapidly, but there is no visible leak under the car or in the engine

You must have a intake manifold or head gasket problem, check to see if the oil level is high, if so it's most likely a intake gasket. Running a engine with this kind of problem won't last long.

Losing antifreeze into oil.what is the problem. head gasket or intake gasket..

Hello mspayde925: My name is Roger and I will give you a answer. This could be either intake or head gasket. If it is a head gasket you should be getting white steam from the tail pipe. If it is a intake you should just have coolant in the oil. Most common is the intake gasket. GM put a plastic silicone impregnated gasket on the newer engines. Have a lot of leaks needless to say. Be sure to change the oil after your repairs. Should you need further help please just ask. Please rate the answer you received. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger

2000 bonn. super charge intake manifold gasket help please

the gasket you had replaced was the lower intake manifold? this gasket can leak coolant and cause white smoke to come from the exhaust. the exhaust is actually single with dual outlet at muffler. when an engine is getting coolant into the cylinder it burns and causes white smoke much like steam. if the engine is running rough and has the check engine light on then it sounds like you have either a leaking intake manifold or problems with the cylinder head or heads. head(s) could have a bad gasket or a crack. only way for sure to tell is too remove manifold or head(s). call the repair shop and demand to have it looked at again. also have another totally separate repair shop inspect it to have a second opinion.

2003 Mercury Mountaineer with 4.6L is loosing coolant, no steam coming out of tail pipe or fluid leaking on the ground. The dealer thinks it intake manifold or head gasket. The hot oil light has come on...

dont know of any head gasket concerns, usually when the intake manifold leaks it either split and pours out or the heater hose fittings crack and leak. Check the hose connections at the intake and make sure none of the hose clamps have cracked and are leaking

Engine runs but has steam coming out of exhaust pipe

The ONLY way coolant can get into the crankcase is through a crack in the cylinder head, block, or head gasket. THE ONLY WAY!.

Checking compression was a good idea, and you've confirmed that is not where the leak is. It could be somewhere else within a head, the block, or head gasket.

Any gasoline engine will blow steam from the exhaust pipe on start-up and a few minutes running. May even stink, depending on how sensitive your nose is to smell.

I think your going to have to dig deeper into this, if you truly had coolant in the oil. But to tell you exactly where to look is not going to be easy.
