You got to remove altenator belt ac belt and tensioner pulley and crank pulley and plastic covers then you will see timming belt take of the tensioner pulley for timming belt remove belt and smoth wheel on drivers side is the water pump see if it feels like tension on it when you turn it if it does then its ok if spins freely with ease then its going bad i know how to time them so make sure you get timming right or you will bend the valves let me know i can time these subarus with my eyes closed lol

Sorry didnt see the bit at the top, depending on how good you are with cars it can be relativley easy its on the front of the engine you may have to move a few things to get to it im not that educated on suburu forresters so im not to sure, but it should jus be a few bolts and a belt you have to remove to get it off, if that helps at all

What is the interval for replacing a timing belt for a 2005 subaru forester

160,000 km major service. Anything over 150,000, think about getting it done, There's a set of bearing and the hydraulic tensioner (sometimes water pump) as well that should be done at the same time.

Why there is no powere supply to the fuel pump on subaru forester

How CRANKSHAFT Sensor can cause this. The Car needs a Reference Signal to operate the Pump. If there is no reference Signal, then you will not get the Pump to Stay on.

I would start with the Fuel Pump Relay and Fuel Pump Fuse FIRST...

A t hot temp subaru forester 1998

A car running hot can be of many causes. Thermostat can be checked by removing and place in boiling water thermostat should open when water reachs temp, hole in hoses hoses will expand when they become hot so a pinhole will open and beome lager when hoses heat, enginge needs flushing a lot of rust and dirt in anti freeze will cause the car not to run correctly, and water pump going bad. Also heater core however I would flush engine before replaceing heater core as it may become clogged.

Replaced leaking water pump now engine keeps overheating unless i put in blank thermostat in 1998 subaru forester 2.5 twin cam. bleed air from system- water pump turns counter clockwise but fins in pump...

yes that is your problem. the water pump is made to turn clockwise. when the engine runs it turns clockwise right! if it turns counter clock wise it will not circulate coolant and it will over heat. the only thing I can say is the drive belt may be on wrong causing it to run backwards.
