Well that means it could be anything from low battery to starter to soleniod. It could even be your car's (ECM/PCM) computer. Since its fuel injected then it could be coil packs. I could suggest several dozen issues that could cause that problem. provide more input.

Ijust had the timming belt done and the water pump done.nbut now the car is making a gurgling sound. Someone said it was the oil pump if it is what's the easiest way to get to.it

The sound you hear might be air trapped in the cooling system. To ensure that there is no air in the system. Park the car on an incline so that the front the car is higher than the rear. Wait till the engine cools and then remove the radiator cap. Start the car and let it get warmed up. When the thermostat opens the trapped air should be pushed out. Add water to get to correct level.

Car issues

It sounds like a transmission issue. If your temperature is not rising over 210 then I would check your trans fluid level. It would make sense with symptoms you are describing. Check it soon too. As the longer you go with this issue the more damage it will cause.

sounds like the water pump. BUT check your hoses first. if you had a weakened hose, it may have split... but the gurgling issue sounds like the pump stopped. good luck!

Low Rattling sound at low RPM

Be sure to check the oil level. It could be that you are very low on oil and your oil pump if gurgling.

Once you're sure you have oil, if you still have a problem then you need to have a mechanic verify it's not a loose/misaligned timing chain which is a common issue for this year/make/model mini. The issue sounds like this:

Sometimes the car won't start and the dash lights and the radio lights flicker

Best place to start is the positive lead on the battery . Remove the lead and clean battery pole and terminal using sand paper until you have shiny syrfaces. Replace the lead and tighten the terminal . Check the battery for charge condition as what you describe indicates a flat battery

Radiator overflow tank makes gurgling sound after engine is turned off. Engine doesn't overheat. just had car service and coolent was fine. no leaks.

You might need to have your cooling system bled, to get all the air out of it. That gurgling is probably just air being pushed in to the overflow tank. Not to much to worry about though.

Is it possible that the sound is happening every time you hit 14 mph after a fresh start? The TC does a ABS check 14 mph that runs the pump for a second.
