Question about 1991 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer

2001 blazer with 4.3 engine cuts off while driving and won,t crank again untill it has set about 3 hours. could this be the crank sensor or what .the fuel filter has been changed and the fuel pump in the tank was changed about eight months ago.after running down the battery and going for help, it cranked up immediately with the battery boost and ran good all the way home. this has happened about three or four times lately

There are to many things that can cause the engine to cut off. Best thing to do is get to Auto Zone or Parts Source and they can scan your blazer for any DTC codes from the computer.
They scan for free and can give the step by step instructions to any parts that may need to be replaced. The problem is just so vast that you want to try to go straight to the problem to save time and money. 
You never know, the problem could be a bad Fuel Pump relay, that when it heat's up after a few hours. It fails till it cools off again, or it may be that you did not have the old Fuel Pump wire harness from the frame to the gas tank replaced the same time you had the pump replaced and there may be a break in the wire now after heating up and cooling down since it was moved around during the fuel pump replacement.
Or like you said the crank sensor, but I am leaning away from that but you never know till you get the blazer scanned.

If you have a bad alternator, the car will run on the battery until dead. Check you charging system to make sure its putting out more than 13.0 volts to charge the battery. A system that puts out less than 13.0 volts will cause the car to draw on the battery under demand and drain the battery until it can't provide enough voltage to the coil to fire the plugs.

Sounds like ignition module under distributor rotor is the culprit. sugest you replace.

we went from CARBS to EFI.
2.5L (what is E)?
gear cam, roller HLA lifters.
your car, USA , is TBI engine,
TBI started on THIS car in 1985 (1/2 and 1/2)
Throttle body injection
an on all TBI engines, one can see it inject with eyes.
does it?
if not it can be the following things.
1: no fuel pressure, 9-13pis.
2: ECU is cutting fuel. Pressure good cranking.
2a: ECU is sending error for bad crank/cam sensors, and cuts fuel.
2b: ECU sees rpm or tacho line dead.
2c. ECU sees TPS sensor output as 4v or more cranking, this cuts all fuel.
3: if ECU is happy, it sends 12vcd to the pump, cranking.
all tests must be dont cranking or chase tail.

which crank sensor do you replaced ? the P0336 means P0336 Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance.

2000 blazer won't start


As for it cutting off i would take the mass air flow sensor off and clean it with a non-chlronated brake cleaner then let dry for 15 minutes and re-install.As for engine not cranking overmost likely its the starter solenoid that is bad.

Have a '94 S-10 Blazer Tahoe 4X4 and it starts


My suspicion is a starter going bad. Sometimes when starters get old and worn they will start good when the engine is cold but not when the engine is warmed up. Did you perhaps notice that lately is seemed to drag when you tried starting, especially warm or it seemed to crank a little slower? I'd replace the starter. Hope this helps.

2000 s10 Blazer dies very 3-6 weeks for no reason


i would check your ignition system. you would need a meter for this but look for broke or loose connections. if it was a fuel problem i dont think it would just start up after 20 minutes. or you might try your ignition switch. if its shorting or something then ya well it would cut your engine off real quick

Crank w/ no start


I've never seen a timing chain break on these engines.What you may have is either a dirty connection at the crank sensor or the crank sensor is bad. The cranks sensor tells the fuel system and ignition to work in synch.
