Question about Acura Cars & Trucks
From the moment I unlock my screen, the icon to show where my car is located, is moving forward. Even if it is not on any sort of road, it doesn't stop, it goes through bodies of water, forests; it doesn't matter. I took my car in and Acura said that it is something that they cannot repair and it would cost me $700 to refurbish or $3,000 to replace! I cannot afford to pay that much at this time, does anyone know any way to repair this? Any help is appreciated! :)

To replace the timing belt back guard you will have to remove both pulleys. There is a small bolt under each pulley holding the belt guard Use a large socket to hold the pulley while you break the bolt loose with a 17mm socket. I have just done this while replacing my head gaskets due to coolant boiling from the gasket leak.

To Take off navigation you have to remove glove box on right side, glove box housing, shifter cover, gear selector cover and plastics on the sides of air tunnel, If you have a aluminum finished covers on sides - start taking out (pulling) to side with flat screw driver from arm rest. Not big job but very delicate. Good luck!!

Make sure your car battery is 100%. (Battery test.) Batteries only last 3-5 years.
If battery power drops down, alarm designed to come on.
Other possibility, if someone in neighborhood nearby (within 500 yards) has a cb radio or ham radio or a service truck with a radio in it, that could set off the alarm intermittently due to same radio frequency.

Labour cost man, I don't know how much the repair shop owners pay to their mechanics, but yes that's over charged, If they work 6 hours on that engine to replace the water pump, it shouldn't cost more than $240, and this price includes all their costs and labor and benefit. try asking them how many hours are they gonna work on that car, and multiply that by $40/hr, it shouldn't take them over 4 hours to install a pump.
