Put the key in the ignition - don;t turn it yet. Press the odometer reset button until the total mileage shows (not the trip mileage). Then press and hold the odometer in and turn the ignition on - don't start the car just turn it all the way before it starts. You will see dashes across the odometer and once they are gone turn the ignition off and that will reset it.

This procedure is also listed in the owner manual for future reference:

Step 2: turn the key to the off position
Step 3: push and hold the reset button and turn the key to the on position

Odometer stopped working on 2002 toyota seqouia

If the speedometer works but the odometer does not, the problem is usually in the speedo cluster. You may have to send it off to be repaired.

Maintance light will not go off after oil change

with the key off press and hold the trip reset button in the instrument cluster while you turn the key to the run position. The display will turn to dashes and then they will start to disappear. The all zeros will appear and then the odometer will again be shown. Release the button and the maintenance light will be reset.

Sometimes the odometer needs to be on trip A before turning the key off and pressing the button.

My 2006 toyota sequoia has no dash lights for the most part and the cigarette lighter does not work. The clock works but no radio lights either. The radio works.

My 2001 Toyota Sequoia just lost all dash lights last night too. I've tried checking the fuses in the cabin, and none of them look blown. Did you ever get an answer to this problem?

How to reset 2006 toyota sequoia after change oil

Previous Post dead wrong...

Turn ignition to "ON" position. Make sure odometer is on trip setting not on total vehicle mileage setting.

Turn ignition OFF

Push and hold odometer button while turning ignition to "ON" position. HOld for about 4-5 seconds until maintenance light goes off. Turn ignition OFF. Start up vehicle. There should be no more maintanence light.
