Hi,

Regarding the error code you received,

P0700 is EATX code present. It simply means that the engine computer has noticed that the transmission computer has a dtc in it. This causes the Pcm (engine computer) to turn the check engine light on. You will need to have the TCM (trans computer) checked for codes to know what to diagnose.

There might be million of reasons for the same from a small transmission fault to a big one. We cannot determine the fault without proper diagnosis. What i would suggest to get in touch with the dealer to know the exact fault, as it might be a small issue.

Any further help, let me know.

    Hi,

You do not have to replace whole transmission system.

Solenoid pack (cost: about $60-$150 plus labor. May just be clogged.)

Any further questions, you can ask me.

The mechanic is right regarding resetting of the codes since youhave installed new sensors. Each sensor according to its manufacturer may have slightly different codes for the same purpose. This data has to be fed to microchip in the car meant for that particular purpose. Visiting the dealer and resetting codes for a major part as transmission is the perfect solution. However nothing to worry about your transmission system Its perfectly all right only the sensor output is clashing with or not being registered by the onboard chip......................................sodeep

Thanks a zillion! I'll appreciate your your feedback. If I have guessed right this problem must have began after your switched off the car complete(including the battery) once?

The car vibrates when in drive while at a stop. What would cause this ?

Vibration at idle brings to mind a few suspects:

transmission mount(s) broken/missing
transmission internally worn
motor mount(s) broken/missing

(1) transmission internally worn or transmission mount broken/missing - test this by shifting into neutral at the next stop light. If the vibration disappears when you disengage the transmission, then the transmission is the source of the vibration. You'll have to inspect the transmission mounts - if they're ok, then the transmission is internally worn and can no longer smoothly "slip" while idling in drive.
(2) motor mount broken/missing - also test this by shifting into neutral at the next stop light. If the vibration persists, then the transmission is exonerated, and the vibration is coming from (under) the engine. The rubber part of motor mounts commonly crack/break and or pop out and are lost.

I have a 2004 Dodge Intrepid SE and the check engine light has been on for several days. I took it to Auto Zone and they plugged in their tester. They gave me the following codes - P1776 and P0700. Please...

I recommend changing your transmission fluid to see if that helps solve the issue....

Otherwise, you may have to change the solenoid pack as the screen filter in it will clog, and stick the solenoids.

What is the code 700 and 1776

Re...Clarification request....
The 700 code is.....your car has a electrical problem in the transmission.A control circuit malfunction.
You will have to take it to a trans specialist to diagnose the 1776 code. This code is also a trans problem...resulting from the 700 code.

Gears aren't shifting...RPM's too high

There is a problem with the transmission sensor on these cars that will set a trouble code and cause the problems that you describe. Another issue is the correct fluid, use ATF+4 in your Intrepid or you'll mess up the transmission.

2002 Dodge Intrepid transmission not shifting

Flush out your transmission with the correct type fluid, Mopar ATF+4, and correct filter. Disconnect Negative cable, to reset computer, for at least 24 hours. Check grounding straps for PCM, ensure they are tight and clean.
This method worked on my 2003 Intrepid SE, 3.5L, Police Pkg car.
Good Luck!!
