Question about Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

We have a 2003 dodge ram 1500 that started having problems with the air/heater blowing unless the key was jiggled in a certain place once started. Then it began with having to keep the steering wheel tilted all the way up and jiggling the key to get it to work. Now it won't work no matter what we do. Could it be the ignition switch?

I have a 2003 dodge ram 1500 4.7 engine the heater works but blows hot air every where except the 2 vents right in front of the driver which blows cold air.

The vents may not be connected to the ducts under the dash, or a passage door may not be opening from the heater case to those vents. The doors may be cable operated or vacuum operated, or possibly operated from a body control module. Good luck.

Heater in 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 blow cold air out of vents on driver side and warm air on passenger side when turned to heat. What could be possible cause?

Not sure about your dodge, but on hondas there is a lever under the driver side vent to allow fresh(outside air) when its cold out, it will be cold, even with the heat on inside, so check to see if your has that lever somewhere on that side...hope that helps

My heater isn't blowing hot air in a 98 Dodge ram 1500 quad cab. A/C works good and the heater only blows cool air. What could be the problem?

Your heater core is bad or the thremostat is stuck out. I would just get a new thremostat put in it 7 buck.

2002 Dodge Ram 1500 - The heater blows cold air when it sits at idle but blows warm air when it is being driven down the road. A/C does the opposite, doesn't blow cold air when diling, but I figured this...

the heater blowing cold at an Idle and warm while driving it,is usually low coolant in the radiator, remove the radiator cap when engine is cold, fill to the top,and fill overflow tank to full,if that doesn't take care of it,check the heater hoses at an idle and see if they are both the same temp,it might be a water pump not doing its job.

P0038=HO2S Heater Control Circuit High Bank 1 Sensor 2,
The oxygen sensors on your truck have an extra wire to them, they are a heated oxygen sensor,
the computer sees a problem with the heated oxygen sensor on the drivers side, before converter.
not the sensor after converter!

Started out with cold air coming out the vents

I'm no 'expert' but it sounds like possibly 2 different problems. Your heat comes from warm/hot coolant circulating through the heater core, and the fan blowing air through/over it. If your thermostat is not opening the coolant won't circulate. Thermostat is a not too difficult or costly starting place. No air flow leads me to think you have a blower motor issue, perhaps start with the fuse. Hope this helps.
