Where is the slave cylinder located on a 1982 Ford F 150 with a straight in line v6

I believe you are looking for a master cylinder. A slave cylinder would be on the wheel if talking brakes. If talking clutch, a slave cylinder would be on the bell/flywheel housing between the motor and tranny. The master cylinders for either brakes or clutch would be on the firewall under the hood directly in front of the drivers side.

2000 Alfa 166. Just wondering if it is the clutch slave cylinder or the master? or both?

the clutch master cylinder could be a part of the brake master cylinder reservoir
I would suspect that the fault will be the clutch slave cylinder ( cheapest part to start with and most common faulty area
if is not a cylinder outside the bell housing then it will be inside the bell housing and will be expensive to repair as the box has to come out as the slave cylinder sits on the input shaft extension housing of the gear box

How do I fix a soft or dead clutch pedal?

Depending on the vehicle (of which there was no posted information in the question) it should be located on the bell housing. UNLESS it's a vehicle equipped with an internal clutch slave which would be located INSIDE the bell housing.

The clutch master cylinder should be located on the firewall under the hood. Sort of looks like a small brake master cylinder.

Where is slave cylinder located on is300

i presume your asking about the clutch slave cylinder ,this will be located under the hood at the bulkhead end of engine compartment ,there will be a small fluid resovoir sitting on top of the actual hydraulic slave cylinder , the clutch fluid resorvoir is smaller , and usually not opaque, than the brake fluid resorvoir, which are usually next to each other , incidentally the brake also has a slave, or more usually known as the master , cylinder

Check your clutch master cylinder's fluid,it's located under hood in right corner,if low or empty, then your slave cylinder is bad and leaking,it's connected to side of transmission. Here's a link. Where is the Master and Slave Cylinder located on my 2000 Honda Prelude

Might help if you gave a clue as to whether you are asking about the clutch or the brakes, they both have both. Open the hood and look directly in front of where you push when you push the brake or clutch. Mounted on that wall under the hood you will see two reservoirs, one is master for brake and the other master for clutch. There is a slave for the clutch attached to the bell housing where it attaches to the engine, and each wheel's brake has a slave for the brakes.

Some companies have made a shared master cylinder, so there is some possibility there would be but one master cylinder. You would know that if both systems have failed together.

I have a 1996 ford f-150 and my clutch just sticks to the floor. It doesnt retract.

Check the clutch fluid, under the hood on the firewall, if the fluid is low then you need to inspect the for a leak. This could be a leaking slave cylinder which is located internal of the trans bellhousing, if you see any dampness this would indicate a slave cylinder leak. Replacement of the slave , line , and the master cylinder will be required. The slave and master have been updated and require all three to be replaced. Thankyou ,Please rate this answer This will help me out .
