If your looking at your engine bay It's between the battery and the distributor far down between the two of them is a little yellow (most of the time) circular handled dipstick.
Similar looking to the one you pull to check your oil.

I put my 1989 Honda Prelude engine (auto) into a 1988 shell with manual transmission, and now my revs stay high only when driving and changing gears. Was wondering if it is a vacuum hose issue and how

may need to swap the computer also.. manual computer is different..but yes.. be looking into any vacuum leaks..block off any open ports you find..

1988 honda prelude manual tranny, won't start, put in a new starter and still the stater will not turn on, check fuse, oil, battery, what else can i check?

Have you checked the neutral safety switch? The switch is designed to prevent the vehicle from starting unless the clutch is fully depressed. I am not quite sure where the switch is located, it may be under dash on clutch shaft or the transmission. Keep me posted on this matter.

You need to check the tcm for codes too. The s3 light is like the check engine light for the tcm. The VSS code might be your problem.
