Question about Toyota Cars & Trucks
Land cruiser cygnus model 1998 system draws 0.5 amp dc from battery when ignition are swithed off continuesly and after two days the battery are flat. when removing ECU2 fuse the current drops to zero, which system does ecu2 control .drawings would help a lot?
Dont know much about the land cruiser, check draw on the fuses, each fuse should read low draw and one of them will be higher than the rest like one will show up near 1 volt or more and theres your issue, check what that fuse goes to and inspect it, usually people install after market add ons wrong and wire it to a constant power source.

Have the battery load tested. This is likely a short in the battery itself and not in the car. You will have a small amount of draw in a computer controlled vehicle. This is very normal for the "keep alive". Older cars with no computer will have no draw. Let me know.

The wiper should not move regardless of battery change as the wiper switch should have isolated it.It seems to be the only ,as you say, strange thing and would be inclined to believe that that is the probable cause of your fault.Do like your testing method and hope you track the fault down.Good luck and happy new year.

My 2002 GMS Sierra draws a simaliar amount of current.(.52 A). There a two items which draw current all the time on my truck. One is the OEM security system and I also have a wirless auto start unit. Both of these have a continouse draw on the battery. I've installed a high current marine battery switch to isloate this load if my truck will not be used for more than two weeks. Otherwise, the battery will be ecessivley drained. Regards, Jeff

When checking a draw you have to wait to check till all modules have powered down including Gem module. This can take up to 30 min. Specs are 50 ma draw. To check get you a test light take off the postitive cable, " you can also use a meter", now you have to put the light in series withe the battery and cable. Clamp one side of test light to battery cable the other side to battery post WITH CABLE OFF THE WHOLE TIME. Now if you open doors turn any switches you will have to restart your 30min. then you can check and see if unplugging module, if that fixed problem. what we do is open the doors before, then take a screw driver and close the door latch so that you can get in and out of the car without turning something on
