Than stay far from home. Is a good excuse. :)))
Now, seriously....Have you tried to move slowly the steering wheel to left and right when trying to turn the key on?
Please reply.

Ignition switch removing key will not turn foward or backward than how do i remove cyl if i cant get the key to turn. then how do i get the switch to the on post, so that it can be remove. thank u.

I am not an expert, but it happened to me on Saturday night. I could not turn the key in any direction. I ended up having to call CAA. When the guy showed up he placed my key in the ignition and tapped the end of it a couple of times with a small rubber mallet. He held the key and lightly moved it to the start position while tapping. He was able to start the van and I got it home. It happened again the next day and I was able to get it going the same way. I am planning in changing the cylinder and will probably have to do the same thing to get the key to the run position.

I cant turn the ignition or move the steering wheel on my 2003 nissan altima. When I insert the key I get the usual sound but I cant turn the key at all, and the steering wheel seems like its stuck.

i think there is a ignition problem , might try replacing it , of course you cant turn the steering if the key wont turn , its a theft prevention device.

Returned home and tried to turn of car and key wont turn to lock position so that it can be removed. the car is in park and i cant figure this out

Try pumping the brake pedal and then removing the key. Otherwise try to turn it on anf off several times while keeping the brake pedal depressed and try playing with the gear lever as well.

Ignition switch

well try and turn the ignition swithch with a pliars or screw driver since its allready wrecked you cant do much more harm. If that works then look just on the bottom side of the ignition switch there will be a small hole turn key off and use a drill bit and push up with some pressure and start turning the key on the lock clynder should come out when doing this.

Engine will not turn over rac said it was transpoder bought new key with chip still the same is their any way of overriding the immobiliser to start key

you will probably have to go to renault for there diagnostics as most home bought code reader scanners cant fix renault problems
there is a program available free on the web that tells you how to key a code in that tempory unlocks the imobiliser but as soon as you turn of your ignition it will re imobilise your car
your best bet is to pay about £90 to renault to tell you what the problem is
