Question about 2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue

Wiper does not stop wiping until engine shut-off

Olds Intrigue 2001 Wiper turns on alright, but can't be stopped wiping. Fast wiping works in correct speed, slow wiping works in correct speed, but in intermittant position it just keeps on wiping in slower speed. It keeps wiping in Off-position as well. Must turn engine off and back on to stop wiper and have the blades retact to its resting position.

I had the same problem with my '02 Intrigue. I replaced the pulse module on the wiper motor, and that fixed it. Module was around $30 from rockauto.com

My best solution, which you may not want to hear is new wiper motors. It seems like a common thing in these cars (the wipes don't go down all the way.

2 things.

1 bad connections on the motor itself under the skuttle panel below the window screen.

2 the stalk from the steering wheel is broken, they have small metal parts inside they sometimes come lose and stop working, just replace it.

Make sure you use OEM Injectors. The white smoke might come at a 3.5 from a bad gasket bewteen the intake manifold and the throttle boy or if you have the 3.8 from bad gaskets between the intake manifold and the engine.

Wipers stop after 5 minutes of slow or intermiant speed use.

Try replacing the Wiper Motor Pulse Board Module. It is available at aftermarket parts stores, it is easy to replace, and it is a high failure item. Eventually, the module will fail completely and leave you with no wipers.

NTERMITTENT STALLING AND STARTING.

A very common for these problems is a leaking fuel pressure regulator. This leaks gas and causes extended crank times, stalling, and check engine light.
