Look at the accessories fuse . It should be 15- 20 amps. The accessories fuse normally control the cig lighter, radio and anything else you run without the ignition being on

I think they're refering to a fuseable link perhaps? Idk but I sure would like my effin

SOURCE: how to replace 2006 dodge stratus cigarette lighter cylinder

The lighter base is held on with a threaded sleeve from the back. You would need to get access to the back of the socket to remove it.
You can look at a new part to see how the sleeve is attached.

Which fuse is for the cigarette lighter in 2005 dodge stratus

If it's for the 4 door sedan, then you want to go under the hood and pop the top of your battery case off. It doesn't take much to do so. Next you'll want locate fuse #2. That's the one that controls the lighter outlet. If you're looking for the 2 door...I have no clue. Here's a link to a free repair guide. 98 stratus won't start

Check the fuel shutoff valve. to see if it is on. press the reset button to do this. if it stays on. The answer could be pinched wires (a short) from the fuse wiring back towards the shutoff valve. if the valve shuts off try checking for current with a test light. if no current . The valve is bad. it seems like a short or open circuit on the fuel system wiring.
