THE DEA DEALER HAD THE CAR FOR 4 HOURS. USED DIAGNOSTICS AND COULD NOT REPICATE THE PROBLEM , BASICALLY YOU TURN THE KEY AND NOTHING HAPPENS. IT MAY ONLY HAPPEN ONE OUT OF TEN TIMES, BU THAT IS NOT WHAT WE EXPECT IN THE REAL WORLD. AS USUAL IT NEVER HAPPENS AT THE DEALERSHIP.

Hondas have problems with the contacts on the ignition switches, this really sounds like your problem. Try wiggling the key a little next time it happens.

2009 jeep commandeer wont start, when I turn the key there is no sound, lights wont turn on and is that wasn't enough the key gets stuck in the ignition. any ideas?

it wont crank, no A/t car starts unless cranked first. (a key point)

fix head lights first. this is a feature in all cars.

that is SIMPLE and HOT all the time

they must work at all times and is the top way to diagnose

electric problems

you have a dead battery,.

only why remains.

i bet it cranks jumper cable started, call AAA or buy some cables.

or swap in a charged battery , or heck charge yours, buy a charger.

check fuses.

check battery lugs for green death?

check battery voltage. at 12.6vdc, if not charge the battery

if the battery continues to disgharge.

that is called phantom drains, or bad battery .

or the alternators is bad.(system)

once started the battery volts must be 13.3.to 15v, if not the charge system is bad ,(fuses, belts slipping and lots more possibles)

the clicking that you hear is coming from the starter relay. sounds like your ignition starter switch or ignition lock cylinder is bad.

Dead battery

The clicking sound you hear when you turn the key is the starter solenoid trying to apply voltage to the starter. Try this, if you can see the starter tap it with a hammer and then try to start the car. this is an emergency make do.

The solenoid is a heavy duty relay that is capable of switching the high current requirements of the starter (up to 70 - 100 amps).

If it's clicking its closing. By the way a new starter will come with a new solenoid

I just replaced my starter in my F-150 today for the exact same problem. Cost $100

Hope this helps Good Luck Loringh

Will not start, just clicks when you turn key

If it is a single click, it could also be the neutral-safety switch. Turn ignition switch on, put foot on the brake, put trans in neutral - try to start.
