Jack the front of the vehicle up, after chalking the rear wheels of course: )) after supporting the front end on jack stands, put your hands at 12 & 6 oclock . Give the tire some firm back and forth if you feel any play in the wheel you probably have bad bearings.

Bad new bearing I would imagine. It is probably Mexican made and inferior to US parts. Factory parts are the best to buy and of course expensive

no recalls that I know of, but you can always call the dealer, give them the VIN number and they can tell you of any outstanding recalls.. if you have thep ads off in your hand an spin the wheel and you hear grinding noises, then I would say the bearing is bad.

Sounds like you have a bad bearing hub (likely in front but you need to determine which side) You really can't tell by shaking it, unless its falling apart. Remove front brakes and rotors and turn the bearing by hand, any slight roughness is a problem (you can't exert as much force as the vehicle weight of the vehicle)

2004 Chevrolet Malibu front end hum

I think your right that its a bad bearing or hub. If your feeling it in the gas pedal and the floor, its most likely the front. If you can find an empty parking lot, try to get up to the speed it starts making the noise, and turn left and right. With the extra load being put on each bearing from turning, that will tell you which side it is.

What needs to be done to remove & repack wheel bearings? Left front is starting to make noise

Almost all newer cars the front wheel bearings are a sealed unit. There isn't a way to remove and repack like the old style bearings. More than likely if it gets too bad, you will need to replace the hub assembly.

Scraping sound at very low speed (5MPH)

I have personally seen a lot of wheel bearings go bad on these vehicles. If you hear the noise get more pronounced when turning left, the right front (passenger side) bearing is most likely the culprit- if turning right, it would be the left front (driver side) bearing.

Hope this is helpful!!
