98 accord door handle broke door will not open

A non electric door, (which?) wont open, lock works ok, handle wont open the door.
What can I do to fix it.
well telling the door to us would help, and options.
so no electric locks,
there are 2 levers. one inside and one outside.
so you pull the door card (inside door covering)
and look at both locks , the inside pull, its it working?
then look at the key lock cylinder. is it connected still
and last are both connected to the latch mechanism.
one can cycle this latch lever inside the door shell.
if that fails the latch is busted.
all this is covered in the FSM ,why not read it.? (under body)
free , too.

Drivers side door lock will not release and allow door to close.

OK First I think you have a typical lock/latch failure situation, you must hold the door release handle open while pying the latch hook to the open(able to recieve door catch rod mounted on the inside door post) once you pull it back the door should work fine if this continues to happen the door latch assembly needs to be replaced(those big philip head retaining screws are installed with a special tool to secure the door latch from coming loose so be aware its not easy to remove)

NEXT IF THIS IS THE PROBLEM WITH YOUR DOOR:

Inside the door is a door lock electrical solenoid.... when these solonoids malfunction they will do exactly what you are describing.... to access this you must remove the door panel and all tah is connected to it.....raise the window all the way up....with a light locate the lock soleniod....very carefully remove the part, be sure you have the replacement handy in order to identify the part.

Need to remove inside door panel on drivers side 1999 chevy silverado z-71 3 door new body style

just pop out the triangle piece from the top at the top front of the door panel with a flat head screwdriver. Then simply pop out the door lock cover from the aft side and the door handle cover from the aft side as well. Then pop up your cap containing the auto door locks and windows and disconnect the cannon plugs. Then just remove 2 screws (1 from under the door lock/window cap and one just insde the door handle itself. You'll then life up and towards you to remove the panel. Don't pull it too far out because you'll still need to disconnect the speaker cannon plug and pull out the door open light at the bottom aft of the panel. You can then set the door panel off to the side.

I need instructions on replacing the passenger side external door handle with electric locks

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can pull back the weather seal and disconnect the linkage to the outer handle and remove the bolts holding the outer handle on

ELECTRIC DOOR LOCKS ONLY LOCK SOME TIMES

if you hit the lock button a couple times, will it finally lock?

If so, then you will need to take door cover off and lube up the connectors as they probably got corroded.
