Have you checked the engine mounts, weak engine mounts can make it vibrate, if you could tell me more were the vibration is sounding like its coming from front or back it may help more to find the problem. also have you had the balance weight checked on the drive shaft. this can cause a problem like this. if you have a ring on the drive shaft there is a ring, then it is missing. and that is why you are geting this fault. you will need to have a new one fitted.

Good Evening, your problem is a normal wear and tear issue as that over time brake rotors can become slightly warped and the only time you feel it is when you step on your brakes. A normal rule of thumb on those systems is if you feel it in the steering wheel when you step on the brakes it is your front rotors, and if you feel it in your seat it is the rear rotors. Always change your brake pads at the same time you change your rotors to help the longevity of the brake pads. Glad to help.
Thanks,
Joey

My 2000 Subaru Outback has a loud rattle from the rear gate (ie door)

Check your rear stabilizer bar an make sure that all the bolts are still intact. You may also want to crawl under the vehicle and give your muffler a shake to ensure that no mounts are missing. these are the most common issues associated with rattling from the rear of vehicle.

Trouble with modern day synthetic oil is that it evapourates very quickly, check to see what subaru say in the driver handbook about it, they should give you guidelines on how much oil the car should be using. Wouldn't think this was causing your vibration fault. Check gearbox and engine mounts, they may look ok but the rubber on them may be weak. Also check your anti-roll bar bushes.Good Luck.

Hi. I own a 1997 Subaru Impreza Outback. The steering wheel vibrates upon braking. It is worse at higher speeds. Replaced front brakes and rotors a year ago. Thank you.

If I understand you correctly, you feel a vibration it the brake pedal when you apply the brakes. Is that correct?
Have your brake rotors re surfaced; they are warped.

"engine makes cavitating noise" ....what does this mean?

2003 subaru outback engine vibration in gear

Did you recently replace the axles on the vehicle? This problem commonly occurs in Subarus when you replace the axles with non-OEM parts. The only fix seems to be to swap out the axles for OEM parts. Search the forums at subaruoutback.org for many stories of the same condition and some theories on why non-OEM axles cause the problem.

2000 subaru outback/ clunk when i put it in reverse

Turn off engine . get the vehicle on level ground. try to move driveshaft back an forth or,by rocking in twist motion,,, try to hear a knock,,,this would indicate a worn universal joint.either front or back, if you are good enough to discern which one is making the klunk, change both to be on the safe side. think they may be about 20 dol apiece.
