Belt is called car serpertine belt or drive belt.the belt cost about $.20.00 up to $40.00 if you get a good name brand.it will cost you about 150.00 to 200.00 at dealershipto fix it.if you dont have to remove the engine mount it will be cheaper.take it to a private garage.they wont charge too much.

Broken seat adjustment wire under driver's seat... How do I remove the driver's seat (2000 Saturn SL1)?

On the 90s S models there were two screws holding the rails in front and two in back. remove those bolts, disconnect the battery and then the seat belt light wiring plug and the thing should come right out.

2000 saturn sl1 - No power to car with key in or out. Put jumper cables on and not even the interior light came on. Fusible link maybe?

First check your positive battery cable. I have seen, especially on the Saturn, where the positive cable gets corroded through the cable and will not allow any power through it. Also check all fuses in the fuse box under the hood, especially the large green 30 amp fuses. If that does not help then check the fusible link between the starter and the alternator. I have seem some of those fail, but usually the car still had power.

I have a 2000 SL1 manual shift Saturn. I recently changed the radiator hoses, installed new spark plugs and wires. The engine now idles at 1700 rpm when first turned on and settles at 1100 to 1200 when...

the intake manifold gasket at the #1 cylinder shifts over and causes a vacum leak which causes a high idle and sometimes a p0157 code with the ses light,,,,you will need to replace that gasket like a $500job,fairly involved,,,,with the car running spray water DIRECTLY at the #1 intake port area the one closest to the belt and see if it runs rough,,,,

Where is the water pump located on a 2000 Saturn

Standing on the passenger side of the car with the hood open looking down into the engine bay you will see the serpentine belt. If you have air conditioning, look directly below the air compressor pulley, the next one down is the water pump. Another easy way to find it is to find the lower radiator hose (again on the passenger side of the engine) and follow it to the engine block, the pulley where the hose meets the block is the water pump (not the pulley, but what the pulley spins is the pump).

Hard to start

have a 97 sl1 which was very hard to start and when it would it ran rough and stalled out easily. sometimes no start. It turned out to be the heater sensor on the engine block (right side as you face the hood. just under the heater hose. the part was 17.00 or 27.00
I don't remember which but it ultimately was sending misinformation to the computer module and it always "thought" it was too hot and would adjust incorrectly. the major clue was therm
indicator read hot even when cold and just started. took me 2 days
to figure it out before spending money. good luck.
