Hi there,

Standing in front of the car, it is in front of the engine, just between the hood latch and cam housing...plastic looking circle with a plug on it. it is in plain sight, and has two bolts holding on.

Hope this initial info helps.

Let me know.

    sorry for that..

    crankshaft position sensor
mounted into the transmission bell housing
with a 10 mm bolt.It is located on the driver side of the
vehicle, exactly where the trans bolts to the engine block. If you are
standing at the rear of the engine,on the driver side fender facing the
engine bay,the sensor is located at about 2 o'clock if the rear of the
    engine were a clock

The Crankshaft position sensor is located near to the cam housing, exactly it is on the front of the engine, between the engine and the transaxle, and reads off the cam sprocket.

here instructions for replacement:

Remove speed control servo from driver's side strut tower.
Remove crankshaft position sensor retaining bolt Crankshaft Position Sensor
Pull crankshaft position sensor straight up out of the transaxle housing.
(Disconnect crankshaft position sensor electrical connector from the wiring harness connector.
INSTALLATION - ADJUSTABLE
All vehicles will be equipped with an adjustable crankshaft position sensor. This can be identified by an elongated mounting hole in the sensor.

NOTE: If the removed sensor is to be reinstalled, clean off the old spacer on the sensor face. A NEW SPACER must be attached to the sensor face before installation. If the sensor is being replaced, confirm that the paper spacer is attached to the face of the new sensor Crankshaft Position Sensor and Spacer

Install sensor in transaxle and push sensor down until contact is made with the drive plate. While holding the sensor in this position, install and tighten the retaining bolt to 12 N·m (105 in. lbs.) torque.
Connect crankshaft position sensor electrical connector to the wiring harness connector.
Attach connector to heater tube bracket.
Install speed control servo. Tighten nuts to 9 N·m (80 in. lbs.) torque.

Here is the part.

What does a crankshaft sensor do? what does a camshaft sensor do?

get a HAYNES repair manual, tells you what all sensors do ! the crankshaft sensor sends info to the SBEC, reguarding engine crankshaft position. the camshaft sensor reads camshaft position, sends a coded signal to the SBEC, which uses this info to determine whether the fuel injectors and ignition coils are correctly synchronized !

Can't find crankshaft position sensor on our 2004 pacifica.and when i do find it what do i have to do to replace it.

The crank sensor is mounted down low on the passenger side where the motor and transmission join together. Should have one 10mm bolt holding it in place, and an electrical connection. Remove the plug, remove the bolt, and slide it out. Install in reverse order.

2005 Chrysler Pacifica 3.5 V6, has a code that says bad crank sensor, got a new one, want to know the location of the crank sensor for that model

Codes don't tell you anything is bad

They are used to diagnose & component test
a sensor or other parts of a system

You only replace a part if it fails a test

If your not testing the system & it's components,
how would you know what does work & what doesn't?

2004 chrysler pacifica service tire system light is on. Replaced tires all around and aligned.

Make sure that your tire pressure sensors were not damaged. one simple way to check what tire sensor is causing the problem is to lower each tire individually and check to see if the message displays to a different tire or more than 1, depending on the TPM system your pacifica has. Chrysler has a TPM (tire pressure monitor) tester which can check each individual sensor for correct operation. and the sensor's batteries have typically a 5-7 year life span.
