Hello tmac200968: My name is Roger and I can answer your question for you. You will find #8 cylinder located on the driver side of the motor. THis will be the plug closest to the firewall. THe cylinders run as follows. 1-2-3-4 are on the right side of the block 5-6-7-8 are on the left side of the block.Right and left are always determined from the drivers seat. Please rate the quality of your answer as this is how we determine you received the correct information. Thank You for using FixYa. Roger

Where is the #8 coil on a ford explore v8 2003

The #8 coil would be on the top of #8 spark plug. It will be the closest to the firewall on the D/S of the engine.

I have a 97 Ford Explorer AWD 8 cylinder. Check engine light comes on and I get code p303. Vehicle bucks at times, uses lots of gas. Believe it may be 02 censor, spark plugs and wires tested ok. Any Idea

code says #3 cylinder misfire, check the coil pack for this cylinder to see if its got spark, bad o2 sensor will spit another code, its most likely the coil

Spark plug wiring diagram

Uh....V-8 or V-6?? If it's a V-6, the coil pack is marked 1 - 6. The cylinders are number 1 - 3 starting from the pass. side front of the head, 4 - 6 on the driver's side of the head starting from the front of the engine. Now, we need to know if you have a V-8 engine. Feel free to send me an email for that particular firing order. 68autotech@gmail.com
