SOURCE: blower speed

you need to replace the blower risistor. it should be located very close to the blower motor. it usually has 3 wires that are in a row and one wire a little to the left of it but located on the same oval fixture. go to the auto parts place and buy one . this way you will no exactly what it looks like so you do not have to spend a lot of time and money researching it.

SOURCE: 2004 Chevrolet Silverado Heater/AC Blower on without Ignition ON

there is no relay for the heater fan it's a 15 amp fuse and is on the accessories circuit. the reostat is responsible for all 3 speeds .with the key off there should be no voltage to the blower motor whether the fans speed fan switch is on or off. the fuse will be located in the fuse paneleither on the drivers left side in the dash or underneath the dash in the fuse block. you have a short in the harness that is under the dash and most likely it's a bad plug on the harness. your going to have to do some searching but that's where the problem short is... please rate

1991. Why doesn't A/C fan work?

Check the AC fan relay
Symptoms Of A Defective Blower Motor Relay
The blower motor relay's job is to basically bypass the current that passes thru' blower motor resistor and deliver it directly to the blower motor. With the blower motor getting full battery current, it'll run in HI speed.

The most common symptom you'll see, when the blower motor relay fails in your Chevy S10 (GMC S15), is that the blower motor will not run in HI speed (but will run in LO, M1, and M2 speeds).

In some cases, the blower motor will fail and the blower motor will not run in HI but you'll have all of the other speeds working.

the fan resistor is bad. Most fan resistors have a different size wire for each fan speed which controls the fan speeds, the small wire is low speed ETC, This site will show you how to replace fan resister--- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Be61A67ltP4 - When utube comes up, Please click on 7th link down on right side of page. Fan for heat turns on and off and sometimes stays off

If it comes and goes on all speeds, I would say its probably the blower motor. You would check for power and ground at the blower motor when it stops running.
If its only on one speed, it may be the blower resistor.

My ac unit was working just fine then got where it was barely blowing on level 4 and then now today wont blow at all and even heat wont work no air will come out

Hi,
Check the blower resistor block( that controls the speed and powers the fan blower ), u can locate it under the dash in the side of blower housing( usually u have to remove the glove compartment ). Check the continuity of the connection, if broken, u have to replace the whole resistor block.
Hope that helps u out!

Chev cavalier with ac blower fan blows fuses

Try to turn fan on with heater in "Heat" position. This will eliminate the A/C compressor as the cause. Most often it is a wire nrubbed through to the A/C compressor that causes this.
