SOURCE: replacing fuel pump on 1995 oldsmobile aurora

The GM 1995 Aurora repair manual, says to use the access hole under the carpet in the back right corner of the trunk. You are best to buy a new fuel sender locking nut or ring at the dealer for about $8.

Forgot to add this - to relieve the fuel pressure, just use the press the center of valve on the fuel rail (for pressure testing) and a rag to catch the dribble. Really no big deal.

Make sure disconnect the battery cables too

SOURCE: The windshield washer hoses on the 1996 Oldsmobile

This is something you can easily do yourself for about $20 or less. That hose is the same as vacuum line.take a small piece with you to the autoparts store, to be sure you have the right size, and buy enough vacuum line to replace your hoses. Get a rough measurement before you go, probably 10 feet or so and it is about $1 a foot. Use the old lines to measure out the new ones.
If the old lines don't want to pull off fairly easy, then use a sharp knife or razer blade to cut them off the plastic fittings. In the cold the plastic will break quite easily, so be careful. If the new hose is giving you a hard time going back on then put the ends in some boiling water for a minute or so and they'll slide right on. Hope this helps.

97 aurora shifts fine in 1st thru 3rd and under 45 mph, then over that speed will go into OD but slips over 45 mph, any ideas??

If the AFT fluid level is ok then the only thing that would cause this is that the transmission has failed, the clutches are burnt up or worn out, the transmission will need to be replaced or rebuilt.

Transmission wont shift out of second gear

There is a shift solenoid for 2nd gear that has been known to cause these kinds of problems. Apparently it cracks or breaks but is replaceable. It is also possible that your car is in "limp mode". This will automatically select 2nd gear to use. Get your car checked for codes. This will let you know for sure. Hope this helps.
