Can't find low side service port to top off r-134a.

I can't find the low side service port to replace the r-134a on my 2005 dodge durango. Can someone help me identify where it is at? I have done this on my 99 Tahoe and had no problems, but can't find the right port on the Durango

Look up against the firewall on the passenger side and look in the corner on the same side
and see if your vehicle is listed on here www.autozone.com and if it is you can get diagrams and pictures

Location of low side a/c service port

The low side port is located in the low pressure side of the AC system, this is the larger of the two lines comming from the compressor.

How to add r-134a to 2005 durango?

Hi!!

I am assuming that you already fixed the problem leading to have the leak. MAKE SURE YOU DON'T OVERFILL SYSTEM.

At your favorite auto parts you'll find a 134a gas refilling kit from which you can add gas to the system. It comes w/instructions, but I still want to give you some tips.

If the system is empty, with motor off, charge one can in and while charging the second one, start vehicle, turn A/C ON and set to MAX COOL. Step on gas to 2000 rpms.

If you just need to add some gas, start vehicle, turn A/C ON and set to MAX COOL, then, start adding the gas. Step on gas to 2000 rpms.

The connector of the filling kit fits only on the LOW side of the system, so don't worry about hooking it in the wrong place. Also, make sure the 134a can is standing straight up while charging system. Good luck.

Where do i find low side service port to put 134a in 2002 dodge caravan

On my 99 3.8L it was coming right of compressor. The low side is the bigger diameter hose & tubing of the 2 lines. Follow the bigger line from compressor, and look for a plastic cap on valve.

Have 134a refrigerant and shop where I bought it said owners manual will have the how to instructions. Unfortunately it doesn't. I see on the line there is a stem to screw the hose into but want to make...

No,you won't find it in the owner's manual. It charges through the low pressure side, which is the larger of the 2 available ports. You can't hook it up wrong. I suggest you buy a Hayne's manual for the truck. It has 90% of any answer you might need. A/C can be tricky to fix for the novice. If charging doesn't work, take it to the shop.

My recharging kit for air conditioner doesn't seem to fit recharge valve on 2004 dodge durango. How can I be sure i am looking at the low prerssure valve?

Newer vehicle come with R134 vs R12. Since the two are not compatible, R134 has larger fittings. AC system has two ports, High and Low. Low is return to AC Compressor and high is output. High port is first following line from compressor to condenser (condenser is at front of vehicle like a second radiator). Keep following line till you find high port (paint cap red). Second port is low (paint cap blue).
